Curry with mushroom is a different dish. We have tried mushroom gravy but not a curry with mushroom. Mushroom tastes similar to mutton. So i wanted to try mushroom curry in mutton curry style. The mutton curry which Sourashtrians do has a unique flavor and taste. There are many die hard fans for this mutton curry. I tried the same procedure and replaced the mutton with mushroom. The output is awesome. It tasted exactly the same.
No more tension for the non-veg lovers. This dish is a substitute for their appetite during divine months and days where they are not allowed to eat non-veg.
- Mushroom – 1 packet
- Shallots – (8-10)
- Tomato – 1
- Kozhambu podi -1/2 tbsp
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Curryleaves – 1 sprig
- Coriander leaves – 2 sprig
- Water – 1 1⁄2 cups
- Half the mushroom and onion. Mix kozhambu podi and water in a pressure cooker and avoid lumps. Add all the ingredients to it and squeeze the tomato.
- Add a spoon of ghee and salt to it.
- Pressure cook it for 15 minutes in low flame.
- Mushroom curry is ready.
