Panner Poriyal

Panner poriyal is a simple and easy dish. Panner poriyal is a tasty substitute of egg  poriyal. It can be prepared in minutes. It is a great appetizer. panner-poriyal-13

It got this recipe from my in- laws. With few alteration, I did in my style. It came out awesome and it was yummy too.panner-poriyal-16

INGREDIENTS

  1. Panner – 200 gms
  2. Shallots – (8-10)
  3. Mustard seeds – 1⁄2 tsp
  4. Split urad dal – 1 tsp
  5. Green chili – 1
  6. Curry leaves – (1-2) sprig
  7. Salt – 1⁄2 tsppanner-poriyal-6

PROCEDURE

  1. Cut panner into small cubes.panner-poriyal-1
  2. Soak it in hot water for 2 minutes.panner-poriyal-3
  3. Wash it in water at room temperature and drain the excess water.panner-poriyal-5
  4. Heat oil in a kadai.panner-poriyal-7
  5. Add mustard seeds, split urad dal, chopped onion, green chili, curry leaves and salt.panner-poriyal-8
  6. When the onion turns golden brown add the crushed panner to it.panner-poriyal-9
  7. Saute it for 1 minute and serve hot.panner-poriyal-10

NOTE

  1. Turmeric powder and  garam masala powder can also be added.
  2. If desired garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves.
  3. Pepper powder can also be added.
